Healing Our Heroes Lifeline

Horticultural Holistic Healing Program

Horticultural Holistic Healing Our Heroes Program

United In Service of:

Veterans in Stable Situations

These are veterans who can support themselves but are experiencing a hardship, challenge or crisis.

Veterans in Supportive Situations

These are veterans who are receiving some type of support from a veterans service organization but have needs beyond the help they are receiving.

How We Are Of Service:

Healthy state of mind, body, and spirit: Providing veterans the health and wellness tools to increase their ability to be self-sufficient, more involved in the wellbeing of other veterans as well as being positive contributors to their communities and society.

Healing (and Helping) Our Heroes Model

Transitional housing environment model demonstrates the value in combining health and wellness interaction with essential self-reliance support and tools into a powerful healing (and helping) force for veterans, individually and collectively.

The improving COVID-19 health conditions have made it possible to increase our close contact Boots-on-the-Grounds efforts gradually.

We are ready to get our hands dirty again in the service of our veterans in need.

Program development began in 2019 at Inner Voice’s Eddie Beard Vet House in Chicago. However, before being fully developed, the program needed to be suspended in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions and concerns. Health and safety precautions are taken, and volunteers will be required to have been vaccinated.
Inner Voice Chicago has again generously offered space at their Eddie Beard Vet House’s new location, staff support, and interaction with veteran residents.
