Home Sweet Home

Homeownership opportunities for veterans

United Relief Foundation home sweet home projects

We are putting on our tool belts to make a difference by providing veterans with homeownership, trade skills training, and employment opportunities.

The lack of affordable homes, especially for veterans with mobility disabilities, prevents many veterans served by the United Relief Foundation from becoming homeowners.

Beyond the reward of providing homeownership opportunities, the intention of our Home Sweet Home projects is to create practical models for additional homeownership, trade skills training, and employment opportunities.

United Relief Foundation diligently respects and protects the privacy of the veterans we serve. Army veteran Theron’s insistence to make a video testimony was the exception. After only five years, Theron now owns his home free and clear.

In addition, welcoming others in the Foundation’s efforts stems from our continued United In Service opportunity.  Blues Star Families study¹ recommendations for Community Organisations, Corporations, and Philanthropies to address their finding: Military and veteran family respondents emphasized communication, understanding, and engagement in their desired support from the local civilian community.
