United Relief Foundation has met Facebook rigorous requirements for donations to be accepted via Facebook.
Donations, Payouts and Fees
Donations made on Facebook to charitable organizations using the Facebook payments platform aren’t currently charged fees. For personal fundraisers, fundraiser creators are charged payment processing fees and, in some countries, additional taxes when the money raised is distributed.
Nonprofits that are Registered with Facebook Payments
When a charitable organization that is registered with Facebook Payments has reached the minimum donation payout amount, it becomes eligible for a payout, which occurs on a bi-weekly basis. The payout is an ACH/direct deposit to the organization’s bank account. If a charitable organization’s donations total hasn’t reached the minimum payout amount of $100 funds will roll over until the amount reaches the minimum amount and becomes eligible for the bi-weekly payout.
Payouts generally take 2 weeks to process. Funds donated between the 1st and 15th of a month are generally paid out between the 1st to 5th day of the following month. Funds donated between the 16th and the end of the month are generally paid out between the 16th and 20th of the following month.
Receipt Does Facebook send a payment receipt to donors?
Yes. When someone makes a donation on Facebook to a charitable organization, a payment receipt is sent to the primary email listed on their Facebook account.
This payment receipt includes the organization’s name, logo, mission statement and EIN. It also confirms that the person has made a donation as a charitable contribution and that they’re not receiving any goods or services in return.
