Gamers help stock pantry shelves

For 10 hours, on Saturday November 17th, Games Plus in downtown Mount Prospect hosted a gaming tournament in an effort to collect food donations for Stock the Shelves.

Canned food donations were required to enter the “Food Machine” tournament and to the amusement of the participants and spectators the friendly competition among gamers at times involved who donated the most food.

The tournament event featured the game playing of War machine/Hordes Harvest Thralls designed to be fun for all ages and new players as well as challenging for experienced game players.

Games Plus is taking part in United Relief Foundation’s Stock the Shelves Lifeline Initiative 2007 pilot program to aid the Mount Prospect Food Pantry’s in providing supplies of immediate grocery items for those individuals, single parents and families’ residents who are in need of emergency food.
